The Guide to Proxies

Aug-21st-2008

Welcome to the Full Guide to Proxies. This guide will explain everything related to Proxy Bypass Websites - What they are, how to advertise to reach the suitable teenage audience and how to make money from them too.

First of all, you might want to know what a Proxy is. A Proxy is a website that lets you bypass the internet blocks set on you. For example, in schools there are normally filters that prevent you from going on certain types of websites. A Proxy Bypass allows you to get passed these filters. This is why they’re very popular amongst teenagers.

If you’re running a Proxy, it is a very good idea to fill up your website with advertisements. Although this isn’t a good tip for other types of websites, proxies are known to be full of advertisements so its perfectly acceptable to do this. After all, they are more-or-less the way you’ll earn most of your revenue from a proxy. Also, try to make sure that your proxy loads fast. People want fast loading websites when they use a proxy, so if it is really slow, you need to take action to make it faster.

Now for getting traffic to proxies. This is actually very easy to do. Proxies are probably the easiest kind of website to advertise because teenagers want to use them when the other ones get banned too, so there is a big demand for proxies all the time as old ones get banned. One very good way of advertising a proxy is via Yahoo Groups. There are Yahoo Groups dedicated for just Proxy Announcements. In these groups, all you need to do is post the URLs of your proxies in as many as you can and you’ll get traffic. The same sort of thing can happen with Yahoo Answers too. People ask a question requesting for new proxies, and you simply give them the URL’s to your proxies, and you’ll get more traffic.

The best thing about proxies is the fact that they can easily advertise themselves. If you advertise to some teenagers, you may find that the proxy is spread around by word-of-mouth, and it isn’t long before everyone in a school is using it. This can be great for your traffic. A lot of teenagers use Social Bookmarking sites such as Stumbleupon, these can be quite effective if you get your friends to Stumble your proxies too. A great way to advertise is with Myspace and Bebo. These sites are mainly used by teenagers to talk to each other, so if you can tell people about it on there, you’ll get a lot of traffic through word-of-mouth.

Moreover, Proxy Newsletters can be quite effective. If you find people on forums selling places in Proxy Newsletters with a lot of subscribers (Normally these people sell on webmaster forums), then it may be worth taking it up.

Now for making money. A lot of advertising programs do not allow proxies in their program, so there aren’t as many to choose from. However, you can still make a lot of money if you do well. First of all, Google Adsense is a good choice to use for the homepage of your proxy. Google Adsense seems to be the highest paying, so you’ll want to use this. You could use Adbrite on the homepage too. Now, it is a bit different for the Proxified Pages. Normally on Proxified Pages, there is a URL box, some options, and then the website chosen being displayed. Unfortunately, Google Adsense doesn’t let you advertise on this section. However, Adbrite does. This is why you place Adbrite on these pages, just to make that slight bit extra.

In conclusion, if you run a proxy, you need to use up your website space as much as possible with advertisements to try to maximize your revenue (Since proxies use a lot of bandwidth up, you need to make as much as possible!). You also need to try advertising on Myspace and Bebo, via Proxy Newsletters and Yahoo Groups.
